About Shahnaz Begum, MD, FACC

Shahnaz Begum, MD, FACC, is a Board-certified cardiovascular disease specialist. She is an experienced physician who has been practicing cardiology for over 15 years. 

Dr. Begum received her medical degree from State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate Medical College in New York. She subsequently completed 3 years of training in Internal Medicine followed by another 3 years of specialized training in Cardiovascular disease/cardiology. She then worked at SUNY Downstate as a faculty physician and Assistant Professor of Cardiology until she moved to Dallas. After that she worked at Texas Health Resource and Plano Presbyterian Hospital for several years as an attending Cardiologist. Since then, she has been providing outstanding cardiac care at Heart Care located in Frisco, Texas. 

Dr. Begum has exceptional knowledge and skills. She excels in diagnosing and treating heart conditions including heart failure, coronary artery disease (CAD), valvular heart disease, arrhythmias, and many more. She also believes in prevention and therefore focuses on hypertension, cholesterol and multiple other conditions that can lead to heart diseases.  

In addition to assuring that her patients benefit from cutting-edge new technology, Dr. Begum is compassionate and values their time. She ensures patients have a minimal wait while maximizing the time she spends with each person. She is an excellent listener and her patients love her for her thoroughness and personalized care that she provides to them.
